Happy New Year!

January 6th, 2010

We are looking forward to a wonderful 2010!  When it is cold like it is now, it is hard to imagine that spring is just a few months away.  It is though and soon enough kids will be on spring break, it will be warm enough to tube down Coldwater…soon after it will get hot and we will all be wishing for cooler temperatures

Happy New Year!

January 4th, 2010

We are looking forward to a wonderful 2010!  Stay tuned for new activitites at A.U.

They say December is one of our dry months….hmmmm

December 7th, 2009

Usually we think of the spring as our rainy season…well…not this year.  We had a fairly dry spring and so far we have had two flood in the last few weeks.  Nothing serious, just enough to block bridges with debris, and cause us to move everything UP and last…but not least, we get to wade into work.  This time of year, that is cold on the toes.  As of yesterday, Coldwater Creek is back down to a normal level and river trips are up and going.  Just a little excitement to keep all the winter time workers on our toes.

Thanksgiving

November 23rd, 2009

As Thanksgiving approaches I am reminded of how lucky I am…how lucky we are.  I am grateful that I have a job I love, I get to drive through the woods to get to work as opposed to the heavy traffic I once drove thru on a daily basis. I am grateful for all the wonderful people from all different walks of life that I get to meet each day.  We are all grateful for the customers both river and resort that have come to Adventures Unlimited to recreate with us.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

There are a lot of deer and wild turkey at Adventures Unlimited

November 16th, 2009

This time of year is a great time to see deer and wild turkey.  The best time to see them is in the early morning, most mornings we see deer on our way into work, and on occasion they are walking through river trip parking when we arrive.  It makes for a great start to my work day when I see a doe peacefully grazing in the field.

The weather is perfect for camping!

November 13th, 2009

Wow!  We are having wonderful weather.  It is in the 70’s during the day and down in the 50’s at night.  It is perfect for paddling and camping out.  Come out and enjoy NW Fl at its finest!

The leaves on trees are red and gold!

October 26th, 2009

Fall in NW Florida is a beautiful time.  The leaves have changed colors, it is cool enough to spend the evening around a campfire in front of a fireplace in the AU cottages.  This is the time of year when we see a lot of wildlife.  The summer crowds have thinned out and the four legged creatures come out to play.  You can go out on the river and spend a peaceful afternoon watching the turtles sun themselves on logs by the river.  If you’re really lucky you may see a dear drinking water or crossing the river. This morning I saw a hawk perched on a tree.  He (or she) was enjoying a peaceful morning at AU.

Fall is finally here!

October 20th, 2009

The hot weather stayed around for a long time this year.  Fall has finally arrived!  It is in the 40’s at night and the 70’s during the day.  Perfect weather for camping and outdoor adventure.  We are running specails on cabins and overnight canoe camping trips during the month of November!  Check it out at the website at www.adventuresunlimited.com.

Wow! This summer flew by!

August 18th, 2009

It is hard to imagine, but the summer is almost gone.  We are very blessed to have had a really busy summer.  We appreciate all the repeat customers that came out and the folks who came out this year for the first time.  The water level has been great since June this year.  The really hectic days of summer will wind down after Labor Day weekend when the days will be lazier and the temperatures cooler.  The perfect time of year for those who like things a little quieter.

From the EAGLE’S NEST

June 13th, 2009

The eagle wants all our patrons to be aware of the amazing water conditions on the Coldwater Creek!  The creek is better than it has been in 15 years!  Please don’t miss out on the marvelous opportunity  Mother Nature has provided us with her generous rainfall this spring to paddle or float on our crystal clear triubutary.
