Big Catfish

Big Catfish

I think just about every part of Florida has been touched by a hurricane sometime in the past five years.  Here in North West Florida we have had our fair share and then some.  One of the things that happens during a hurricane is trees being blown down.  Many trees along Coldwater Creek came down into the creek during Hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Dennis.  In the beginning, this was a real problem because paths had to be cut through and that involved a lot of hard work.  As the years have passed something good has come of all those trees being in the creek.  They make a great place for fish to hang out.  The fishing in Coldwater Creek is better than it has been in years.  The gentleman in this picture was a guest with us earlier this month and he caught this catfish.  There are bream, bass, catfish and pike in Coldwater Creek. Bream appear to be the easiest to catch or the most prevalent.
