Honeymoon

We have not stopped talking about this place...it far exceeded our expectation and we didn't want to go home!! Needless to say, we will be back. The zip lines were cool, the spring fed creek was clear, cold, and beautiful..with a lot of sandy landings...just perfect! The land and wildlife were respected which is very important to me...and the cabins fit right in with it. Speaking of cabins...our's was on the creek...need I say anymore? The employees were professional, knowledgeable, and very fun to speak with. There isn't anything negative that we could say about Unlimited Outdoor Center and we will and already have started spreading the word. Thank You All for our Wonderful Honeymoon!! Monica and Will

I have to tell you we had a great time.

My family owns a very distinct piece of land in South Florida at the beginning of the watershed for the Everglades and I have wanted to put a zip line and offer canoeing etc as an adventure-educational venue.

This was our first time visiting- We took the 11 mi trip with friends and had a blast.

The staff was very welcoming, knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating which was great in a little bit of a hectic environment.

I like the check-in and allowing each person to get their own paddles and PFD’s as it was non-invasive and looks like it saves you aggravation as well.

Thanks so much. We really had an excellent time. The thing that impressed me the most was how helpful and kind all the staff was. Everyone was
so friendly and happy to do whatever they could for us, and never made us feel rushed, or worried about anything. Whatever problems arose were taken care of with ease, and the only worry I had was watching my group, to make sure they didn't do anything too crazy. I completely forgot to fill out an evaluation form that was given at the beginning because I misplaced the van key right before we left, so I forgot. However, simply mark everything to its greatest degree. I'm sure we will return sometime for another adventure, although when exactly is unknown.

Hi! We had a great time- everyone was very friendly and helpful, from the phone reservations, to check-in, the crew at the wait/load areas, and the drivers, river help. The kayaks were very comfortable, and the river was a perfect float for my son and me (his first solo kayak- he did great!) I told my husband that we'd have to come back there every summer when we visit Florida! I'll certainly tell friends who are heading your way, too.

As always

I lost my comment card during the stay, but I would like to say that we had an awesome time. My kids were already planning the next trip back on the first night. We stayed at the Cedar cabin, and I would like to recommend that the fire pit be replaced. The grate was not functional and we would have liked to have used it.

We loved every minute of our weekend thanks to all of you!
The facilities were wonderful, both meals at the Creekside Kitchen were delicious, the river lunch was sooooo good (especially the orange slices and giant cookies!)
Best of all, the canoe and kayak experience on the river brought all of us closer to God as we enjoyed the beauty of the outdoors!!!

Over Fathers Day weekend me and my family Spent the night over night in a Cabin on the river. We arrived on Sunday we tubed the river and done the nature trail. We had a blast. Everything was so clean did not meet a single rude person. We loved our cabin it was great very clean. We recommend this to anyone we will be back.

Stay at School House

We arrived home last night tired but still excited about our journey. The accommodations and facilities were outstanding. The staff were all very friendly, helpful, and patient! Our group of four women, ages 64-81, always felt secure and comfortable. The old schoolhouse was a delight! We had rooms #4 & #8.

We are looking forward to returning with more friends. How is the weather in late September/October?

we thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Both the Ropes Course and the 7-mile river trip were outstanding. Bill and Steve were very professional and truly helped with our unit's team-building. I must say that the food was also wonderful. We all enjoyed the fine cuisine.

We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. You have a great staff, friendly yet professional.  We had requested the Mark Twain room but we do understand that not all request can be granted.

The staff was awesome, knowledgeable and worked hard but like a well oiled machine. The river was beautiful and well kept. It was an excellent way to be swept away from the stresses of life. We (sons 10&12  and myself) just finished the 7 hr river kayaking trip. AWESOME! Clean river, NO broken glass anywhere. Water is very cool, not cold, and not polluted. The lady at the register was nice and efficient, Taylor Blackwell gave us a ride to the drop -off site. Kudos to him and his parents-a clean cut young man that still knows how to say "yes sir" and "no sir". Great trip-take it!!!

We just had our first trip to AU and it was an absolute blast! We stayed in Ranger Rick's cabin. my mom and I got very lost with a tom-tom and a lady from the after hours phone line helped us get to where we didn't think we could ever get un-lost! We canoed with the Kids and Ben was our guide. He was very helpful and shared his wisdom and his ice cream bar (LOL)! We took a four and five year old with us and they had fun too! Our Tubing adventure was a blast. My friends, sister and I had so much fun we are already planning a new trip for early 2011! The cabin was great, it was a perfect solution to camping with out having to get to primitive! Thanks AU, it was a great time! p.s. the two ladies in the store/registration were wonderful too!

We spent 2 days in the Old School house this week myself, wife , 5 and 7 year old daughter. We had a blast everything was awesome, within 20 minutes of arriving the care takers checked on us, the property was well kept and room well equipped ( small bed for two people ). We will return soon for another stay. We brought our bicycles and were scared to death driving on the roads, speeding vehicles and buses everywhere. Please install speed bumps or manage your traffic. We will absolutely return but well leave the bikes at home.

This past week i was feeling rather down. Things in my life were not going my way, and i figured the best way to fix that would be to go visit my favorite place on earth, Adventures Unlimited. Now i can't tell you whether its the staff or the river itself, but something speaks to me out there that makes me feel whole again. Last summer my wife was on my case to take the kids out for a afternoon to bond after a rough patch of the silence treatment. Having lived up north for most of my life, Canoeing was not the first thing that jumped out at me, but after a little research from my son and a boot out the door from my wife, we made the hour trip to Adventures with low expectations. Boy were we wrong. it was during this trip that i was finally able to talk to my daughter again. And we all enjoyed the cool water and the friendly staff. Overall it was quite possibly the most fun i've had with my kids. And it got my wife off my back. Trust me, this place is GREAT!!

I am a novice canoer so i was nervous when my husband suggested that we go canoeing. the rivers were so gentle that i was able to overcome my fears and had a uplifting time that i will cherish for the rest of my life. We have since moved back overseas, but if we ever make it anywhere near the beautifl Coldwater River, you will be seeing us again!!!!

We came upon your place while vacationing in the area and decided to stop in. What a great decision. We all went Kayaking down this crystal clear Creek. The kids had a great time swimming and eating there lunch that we purchased at the office.(which was delicious by the way) We were tired when we were done and one of your staff told us that you had cabins. We decided to stay and the cabin had a creek view and it was beautiful and spotless inside. This only enhanced our trip through this area and we hope to get back here next year. Maybe we will do the ropes course next time. Thanks to the staff, they were so nice.

Adventures Unlimited is the "getaway of choice" for my whole family and has been so for years. We have experienced the primitive overnights but much prefer the long kayaking day trips. Approximately 2 months ago, while on a long day trip, my sisters kayak flipped and everything was lost..including 2 flute's that she play's while peacefully drifting. More recently, Aug. 09, 2009, my own kayak during some bad weather, and in a rough section of the river that I always choose to take, I lost a very expensive underwater camera. My heart broke. First the flutes, now the camera. That evening as we were leaving AU, I alerted a young employee named Jacob to my loss. He said he would go to that area and see if he could find it..we left it at that, and I left my phone number with him. The very next day, I had a message saying that my camera had been found. Unbelievable!!! Earlier that day I had been speaking to Marc Vallianos, operations manager. There has never been a time that we visited AU that Marc did'nt greet us, even remembering our names.. and on top of that I always got a gracious hug. This particular morning, before setting out, I told him about the flutes that had been missing for 2 months....he walked away and came back with one of the missing flutes in his hands. I could not believe it. He said the other had been found but it had been too badly damaged to save. Two lost items over a two month period, one of sentimental value and one definitely of monetary value. Both returned. Honest, honorable and unselfish. We thank you all, including Josh, Josh and Eddie and all the others whose names I don't know. Adventures Unlimited has always been the GOLD standard for me and my get away needs....and now words cannot describe the connection I/we feel for this wonderful business and their amazing employee's. Remember..safety first! Thank you Adventures Unlimited..see you this weekend. PS Facebook has known about this story since the missing flutes 2 months ago. Many people have been following this story. I even put a story in the newspaper. Although the paper got some things mixed up, the story was still one that tells all about the flutes, the camera and the employees! May I suggest you open a Facebook account for your wonderful business, it's free AND I think you should have some kayaking/canoeing video included in your online advertising!!! AU, "YOU ROCK!"

I  grew up in the city, never truly appreciating the outdoors. My children have married and left the nest. I've had time to travel the country in a small motor home I bought long ago. In all of my travels I  have never encountered a more perfect and wholesome place. As I sit here, I wish i were back basking in the sun on Coldwater Creek.  Thanks for the good time!

Discovered your site for the Greater Good Music Fest. We camped out the weekend. I had no idea there was so much there, I thought it was just canoes and tubes! Wrong! And the campsite, showers, bathrooms were nice and clean. Hot Water! Cheap too. We'll be back for sure.

I have used the rivers of northwest Florida for close to forty years now and I have never had a better time then when I used Adventures Unlimited this past November. I have thought over the numerous memories that i have had on the coldwater, and none compares to the smiling faces that greeted me from the staff when i pulled up. I have encountered many hardships throughout my life, but they all shifted away for the three hours I spent kayaking, feeling the sunshine reign over my being. We love the Blackwater River State Forest and the many safe canoe and tubing streams .Often we will go on an overnight canoe camping trip.It is wonderful to find a remote beach ,set up camp build a camp fire and then cook a delicious meal outdoors.Everything smells,feels and sounds so much more real when done under a star filled night.Adventures Unlimited is the only canoe outfitter we use for the Blackwater River float trip.

For years my family and I have gone camping in the Blackwater River State Forest.We love to canoe and kayak. Usually we use Adventures Unlimited Canoe Rental because they are so friendly and professional.We camp in their campground which has hook-up for RV's.We really like the location on the river and the nature trails there.we have never stayed in the cabins but will do so this year.Thank you for many great memories. For several summers we have stayed in the Cedar and Azalea cabins. The family (myself, my brothers, and our children). There is never a dull moment . This past July we managed to scare the kids with a ghost story with the help of the cemetary at the end of the road. Needless to say, the kids (once the kids figured out it was a prank), spent the rest of their time getting even with us. The cabins are always clean and the staff has never once let us down. Even the summer we had to reschedule because of bad weather (Hurricane Dennis). The staff si always friendly, polite and so very helpful. They even found a place to store my nephew's wheel chair while we went down river. I am so looking forward to our next stay. Thanks to all the staff and have a good winter .
