RIVER TRIP PREPARATION

In all things of nature, there is something marvelous – Aristotle

Reservations

Reservations and prepayment are required for all overnight trips, the 11 and 15 mile Coldwater Creek day trips and all trips on the Blackwater River and Juniper Creek.  We strongly suggest reservations and prepayment for all of our trips to guarantee availability of your selected water craft.  Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time.

AUOC does not refund payments for any reason.  AU may issue a credit to the person or organization that made the reservation to be used within 365 days of the original date they scheduled their adventure for.

Directions

Make sure everyone in your group has good directions, which can be found with our physical address at 8974 Tomahawk Landing Rd, Milton FL, 32570 using most GPS.

Also

  • Bring appropriate dress for swimming and sunning: sunscreen, lots to eat and drink, and trash bags to help keep the river clean.
  • Pets are welcome on the river for an additional charge of $10.00 per pet. Please be sure to keep them on a leash at all times while on or in  Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center property.
  • Remember to leave only your footprints when you depart. Please don’t litter.
  • GLASS CONTAINERS and STYROFOAM COOLERS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE RIVER. Please be aware that it is against the law to take glass containers on the river. Violations can be charged at $50.00 per instance. For example, a six-pack of bottles could cost you $300.00.

DID YOU KNOW…?

It takes 400 years for a plastic 6-pack ring to decompose! During this time, fish and other wildlife may easily become entangled in the rings; monofilament fishing line also poses a threat to wildlife that may become entangled in it. Styrofoam, plastics, fishing line, aluminum cans, glass bottles, and other debris pose a threat to wildlife and their habitats. Join Adventures Unlimited Outdoor Center in our continuing efforts to keep the environment pristine for generations to come. Please leave only your footprints behind; remember to bring trash bags to pick up your litter along the way. Glass containers and Styrofoam coolers are NOT allowed on the river.

WHAT TO BRING ON YOUR RIVER TRIP ADVENTURE

**Note: Do not take anything on river that you mind losing or getting wet**

Groups

Group discounts are available for for groups when renting ten or more of the same craft (canoes, kayaks or tubes). To receive a group discount, the group leader must pay in one lump sum and handle the signing of the river waiver.

For example, if a sports team comes out, the coach (or whomever is going to be responsible for making the reservation) will call, give us the information to make a reservation for all kayaks and then pay with a single credit card over the phone, or come into the shop to do the reservation and can pay in cash. If all 12 soccer players call or come in individually and pay their portion of the trip there will be no group discount.

The group leader is also in charge of collecting the signatures of everyone 16 or older on the River Trip Release of Liability Form.

The group discount comes out to $5 off each of the SAME craft when 10 or more are rented with a single form of payment in advance (i.e. 5 regular tubes and 5 upgraded tubes or 6 kayaks and 2 duo kayaks do not qualify).
