News and Information > Article Details Adventures Unlimited Strives for Clean Florida Camp GroundsAdventures Unlimited is dedicated to caring for and preserving the environment. We accomplish this by keeping our Florida camp grounds clean at all times. This is not only good for the safety of the animals, but it also makes your Florida camping experience enjoyable.
However, we can’t keep our Florida camp grounds clean without your help. We ask our visitors to respect the animals and the land by being mindful of litter and debris. Be careful what you bring onto the camp site, and make sure to properly dispose of trash. What seems like harmless trash to you could be death for the animals.
Common products such as plastic cups, glass, plates, and forks are threatening to Florida wildlife. In fact, Adventures Unlimited prohibits the use of glass containers on the river. We believe when you leave our Florida camp grounds, the only thing you should leave behind are your footprints. Just because you’re roughing it outdoors in the Florida wilderness doesn’t mean you should be careless.
Here’s a list of items you should bring when you visit our Florida camp grounds:
1. Trash bags. The best way to keep your area of the Florida camp site clean is to collect trash as you go. Cleaning as you go lessens the chance you’ll leave litter behind.
2. A normal sized broom. This will come in handy so you can sweep your cabin or around your immediate camping area.
3. A small handheld broom. You should keep this smaller broom inside your tent as to keep it clean. A large broom is too cumbersome for use inside a tent.
4. A dust pan. Of course, the easiest way to pick-up trash is with a dust pan.
5. Dish rags and detergent. You can clean up after a meal without leaving a mess. But please try to bring biodegradable detergent. Biodegradable products are created without harmful or toxic ingredients that could damage the environment. Regular dishwashing detergent may seem harmless, but if too much gets into the river, the natural habitat would eventually be destroyed.
6. A leash for your pet. Pets are allowed on our Florida camp grounds for an additional fee. Pets are welcome, but they must be leashed at all times.
Please do your part to keep our Florida camp grounds, and all of Florida, clean and neat for the future. |
