Our Staff

Adventures Unlimited is staffed by courteous, experienced, and industrious employees, dedicated to doing the work while you have the fun.  Below are just a few of our many great employees.

Roger Egger The Third
Roger is twelve years old and a member of AU's host family. He is a student at Central High School. He likes to play football and video games. He likes to kayak on Coldwater Creek. Kingfisher cottage is his favorite cottage at AU.

Steve Harrell
Ropes Course Facilitator/Zip Adventures Guide
Steve has been working at Adventures Unlimited since the early 90's. These days he is a challenge course facilitator and zipline canopy tour guide. When he isn't working at AU or at his teaching job, Steve can be found paddling his kayaks or rock climbing all over the southern US.

Zack Harris
Recreation Staff
Zach is 17 years old. He is currently attending Milton High School where he participates in football and track. When he graduates he would like to attend either Florida State University or the University of Missouri. He enjoys going to the beach and kayaking with his family.

Meredith Krause
Office/Shop Staff

Meredith Krause is 17 years old and a junior at Milton High School. She was currently elected senior class president. Meredith has been dancing for 13 years. She plans to attend the University of Central Florida and purse a degree in biology before attending vet school at the University of Florida.

Josh O'Berry
Recreation Staff/Adventure Zip Guide

Josh was born in Pensacola and lived here in Milton, Florida his whole life. He graduated from Milton high school and is currently enrolled at University of West Florida seeking a degree in Engineering Technologies. Josh has worked for adventures unlimited for 5 years now and has been involved with the Challenge courses, Zip Adventures, and the Recreation staff. His favorite thing to do at adventures is the high ropes challenge course and his favorite cabin is the Ranger Ricks cabin.

Ronnie Redden
Recreation Staff
Ronnie is 21 years old. He was born in Santa Rosa County. He went to Central High School and lives in Allentown. On his spare time he likes to race motocross. This is his first year at Adventures.

James Small
Recreation Staff
James Small is 18 years old. He is a senior at Milton High School. He has fished in the local waters all his life and has had a passion for it ever since he can remember. He plans to attend college at Tulane University where he wants to purse a path in pre-med to ultimately become a pediatrician.

Kevin Smith
Recreation Staff
Kevin is attending Pensacola Junior College where he is studying Environmental Science. He was raised in north Santa Rosa County and South Louisiana. He has worked in construction most of his life. In his free time he enjoys hunting, fishing, boating, canoeing, camping, and hiking. He loves the outdoors and has two adult children, a 21 year old girl and a 28 year old boy.

Wayne Stansfield
Resort Manager
Wayne hails from South Florida. He grew up in Palm Beach during it's "Spring Break" hayday. He has lived in Santa Roas County for 17 years. Wayne is a former race car driver and huge Nascar fan. Wayne is the AUOC Resort Manager, in charge of all resort properties and vehicles. His his favorite cabin is Kingfisher. Wayne's favorte river trip is the seven mile Coldwater trip. His favorite boat is a kayak. Wayne's favorite high ropes element is the Giant Swing.

Martha Szymoniak
Manager of Zip Adventures

Martha is originally from Illinois. After graduating from college, she moved to Milton, Florida in 1984. She is very active in the community, participating in service clubs, youth sports, and scouting. Martha is the proud mother of two Eagle Scouts. In her spare time she canoes, hikes, climbs trees, knits and spins yarn. She’s even been known to spin a few around the campfire.


Marc Vallianos
Operations Manager
Born to Fred and Bessie Vallianos on August 18, 1967. Marc and family moved to Pensacola,Florida when Marc was one. The Vallianos' have lived in the panhandle of Florida for about 40 years. Marc is married to his high school sweetheart, Anne Todesch and has three sons:Spiros,Vander and Xavier. Marc Attended local schools in Escambia and Santa Rosa counties. He graduated from UWF in 1989 with a BS degree in criminology with a minor in Psycholgy. Marc graduated from the police academy in 1990 and worked in law enforcement for four years. He came back to AU (the best job he had as an adolescent) in 1994. Since that time he has received certification in swift water rescue, beginners daddling, challange course facilitation and course maitenance, etc.
Marc's favorite cabin at AU is Sarracenia, his favorite boat is the We-No-Nah Adirondack. His favorite trip is the Sweetwater/Juniper.
Favorite high ropes element: Leap of Faith.

Spyros Vallianos
Recreation Staff
Spyros is 15 years old and a sophomore at Milton High School. His father, Marc Vallianos is the operations manager here at Adventures. Spyros enjoys weightlifting, baseball, and football.

Jo Lynn Wiley
Guest Services Specialist
Born and raised in Wheeling West Virginia. Married for 25 years and has a wonderful daughter. Moved to Florida in 1993 when her husband was stationed at Whiting Field NAS. Has been an educator for 20 years. Currently teaching at MHS (when she is not working at AU). Jo Lynn's favorite cabin is Tupelo, her favorite boat is a sit on top kayak. Favorite trip: 4 mile trip on Coldwater Creek. Jo Lynn's favorite high ropes element is the giant swing.

Lauren Wiley
Zip Adventures Guide
Lauren was born in Illinois and moved to Milton in 1994 (ask my mom on the for sure year we moved here …) when her father retired from the navy. After graduating high school in 2006, Lauren moved to Alabama to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinarian. She currently attends Auburn University as a veterinary student and comes home on weekends to work at Adventures Unlimited. Her favorite area of Adventures Unlimited besides kayaking down Cold Water Creek is, of course, the zip-line. Going 35 mph on a steel wire cable is not something you get to do every day.

Jack Sanborn
President
Responsibilities: Project Manager, Marketing Director, and River Guide
Biography: Born in Ohio. Moved to Florida in 1958. Began canoeing at the age of 10. Grew up in Gainesville and Ocala National Forest area. Spent boyhood hunting, fishing, and collecting artifacts. 21 years in Marine Corp and Marine Corp Reserve. Started Adventures Unlimited with wife Esther in 1976.
Background: degreed by University of Florida. Marine Corp Helicopter Pilot and Instructor
In my free time: white water kayaking, mountain climbing, hiking, canoeing, snorkeling, traveling.
Favorite Cabin: Ranger Rick or Honeysuckle
Favorite Boat: Spirit Sit-on-Top Kayak
Favorite River Trip: Pond Eddy
Favorite Challenge Course Element: Pirates Tower

Bill Hay
Challenge Course Director
Bill attended UCLA. He has spent the last 10 years working in experiencial education with diverse groups from kindergarters to corporate executives. Bill is certified in "Leave No Trace" instruction. Bill is Wilderness first aid certified, and is a Florida Master Naturalist. He is a Recreational Tree climbing facilitator as well as a seasoned level three challenge course facilitator.
His favorite activities are canoeing and recreational tree climbing.
Favorite cabin: Honeysuckle

Suzanne Roberts
Business Manager
Responsibilities: Guest Services, reservations, adminstration and retail sales
Biography: Worked for Adventures Unlimited as a teenager, came back as a 30-something adult with a degree in Leisure Services from Florida State University. Married to the same wonderful guy for 25 years. Two grown children.

In my free time: I walk the beach, garden, and travel.

Susan Dykes
Bookkeeper
Susan is from Pittsburgh Pa, but has lived in Santa Rosa County for the last 25 years. She has three grown sons and four grandchildren. Her hobbies include contemporary and line dancing. Sue's favorite river trip is the four mile stretch of Coldwater Creek.

Jake Roberts

Jake has been working at Adventures Unlimited (in some capacity) since he was 10 years old. He recently graduated from Milton High School and is now attending Florida State University. His favorite Coldwater River trip is the seven mile kayak trip, his favorite cabin is Grannny Peaden's and his favorite high ropes element is the giant zip.

The Egger Family
The newest Resident Host family for AUOC is Kelly and Roger and their son, Roger. They began their adventure here at AUOC on May 1, 2009. Prior to this, Kelly worked in a variety of positions, including being a social worker for the State of Texas. Kelly likes to sew, putting together jigsaw puzzles and playing Bingo. Kelly is also the new Food Services Director here at AUOC. Roger is a painter. Roger likes to go fishing, football and NASCAR. Their son, Roger, attends Central School and enjoys playing football, video games and going on the creek in the new Jackson kayaks. The entire family enjoys doing Texas style bar-b-que for all the staff and being here at AUOC. The family’s favorite cabin is Riverside II and favorite activity is tubing and kayaking.
